Blog #4- Fall 2011 Color Trend: Not So Mellow Yellow

source: Google Images

Fall 2011 is all about colors that pop. Warm, vibrant colors set the mood for the change from summer into autumn. The key color that stands out to me most in this mix is yellow. Although my choice here may be a result of favoritism, yellow has become a color trend recently and is predicted to be next fall as well. When wearing the color yellow you are bound to be noticed. If you're not feeling a bright yellow piece of clothing, substituting for yellow accessories will make your outfit pop just as much. Many people don't seem to wear yellow in the fall/winter months but recently I have seen the color everywhere. Whenever I wear something yellow I notice a positive change in my mood, so why not wear yellow?

Blog #3- From NYC Streets: Denim Galore

Photo from refinery29.com

Start putting away your sundresses and shorts- fall is almost here. Wardrobes are starting to change with the season and recently I've noticed that more and more people are wearing denim. Denim jackets, denim button down shirts, and of course denim jeans. The denim trend has easily shifted from spring to summer to fall. The new styles and washes are making denim more versatile than ever. Just walking around campus today I saw many people sporting this trend. Even I was wearing a denim jacket. Denim is always makes your look casual cool. Wear a denim jacket over your favorite sundress from this summer to get a little more use out of it. I personally love the denim trend and will be keeping up with it this season, and from the looks of it, many other people will be too.

Blog #2- Fall 2011: I Love My Chunky Sweater!

source: Google Images

Fall weather makes people think of one thing. Bundling up. What better way to bundle up and stay warm than with a big chunky sweater. Knitwear is always popular during the fall months. Its heavy enough to keep you warm and much lighter than a bulky winter jacket. I think this is the perfect item for Fall 2011. Not only is a chunky sweater a good choice for the fall weather but it  looks fashionable as well. Chunky sweaters are available almost everywhere. From Nordstrom to Forever 21, you can be sure to find one in your price range. When wearing a sweater like this make sure you go light with the accessories. The chunky sweater is a fashion statement in itself.

Blog #1- Jeggings: From Fugly to Fashion Trend

source: Google Images

This season, jeggings have made their way into the hottest fall trends for 2010. Jeggings- which are exactly what the name says- leggings that look like jeans, have evolved from "ugly" to trendy in just a short amount of time. This past summer, jeggings were everywhere. You couldn't walk into a retail store without seeing them. American Eagle Outfitters has really done a lot to try to attract customers to jeggings. They came out with a big variety of washes, colors, and styles of jeggings this season. I have even seen stands set up around the mall showing off the jeggings, allowing people to see and touch them before stepping foot into the store.

Due to the hot, sticky weather we have been having, many people are choosing jeggings over jeans merely for the fact that they are lightweight and give off the appearance of skinny jeans without all the bulk. According to Goldman Sachs, jeggings are "red hot for this fall". With back to school sales everywhere, its getting noticed that jean sales haven't been as strong as they have in previous years. Since my return to school, I have seen jeggings everywhere and since my school is located in the Fashion district, that's really saying something. It has even been predicted that jeggings are going to make their way into Menswear for Spring 2011. So, for now, it looks like jeggings are here to stay.
